Other Opportunities

Online
Students can potentially take an online course in place of an in-class course for a period during the student’s timetable.  Courses that are not available within the school’s course selections are generally what is offered or allowed to be taken.  Students can work on their own computer at school, at home or use one of the computers in the Learning Commons.  The following website will direct you to potential course offerings: www.elearningstudents.ca.

Dual Credit
Students have the potential to take and earn a college course as well as earn a high school credit.  The student will be required to attend the college which sometimes looks like one day a week.  Payment for the course is not required.  This is a great opportunity for students to earn an experience and connect with college schooling and life.  The following websites can direct you to further information and what schools we are partnered with:

Algonquin College (Perth, Ottawa, or Pembroke campus) - www.algonquincollege.com/ap/

St. Lawrence College (Cornwall, Brockville, or Kingston campus) - www.stlawrencecollege.ca/programs-and-courses/prepare-for-college/dual-credit-program-for-hs-students/

After School Co-op
Students can connect with a co-op placement after school and earn a credit(s) during the school year.

After School Credits
Students have the potential to join a class after school and earn a credit.  Typically limited in offerings (1-2 per semester).
